Sitting and crawling

Over the last few days, the baby has been demonstrating a new level of control over her coordination.

She has started sitting herself in different ways - she leans back so she is bent at the knees and sitting on the tops of her feet, where she can bounce up and down. Or she scoots her legs out to the side and sits with a lean to one side. She pulls herself on her belly over to one of the toyboxes or the shopping trolly toy, sits up and pulls stuff out piece by piece as if there something she is specifically searching for.

While she was rocking on all fours near her toy table tonight, I placed the stacking cups on the top of them to see what she would do. She lifted one of her arms to pull at them, realised she couldn't reach, and then moved her other arm closer. Then she pulled the table closer so she could reach them.

I spent the best part of half an hour setting the stacking cups in different positions and places, trying to convince her to crawl so I could film it for the husband.

I got one crawl.

We are going to have so much fun with this!!
